It's been a long trying week. I've spent a great deal of mental and emotional energy on handling the many curveballs thrown at me this week. I'm so thankful to not have weeks like this regularly. But it's Saturday now and I'm curled up in bed, coffee in hand, taking a moment to let all that was my week fall away.
I've had a week of way too early mornings.
I've had a week of way too little paying work.
I've had a week of conversations with vice principals.
I've had a week of nerve wracking phone calls.
I've had a week of changing direction and taking risks.
All tiring experiences.
However, in those moments I've also had a week of unexpected provision.
I've had a week of unforeseen gifts.
I've had a week with moments of grace.
I've had a week full of connection.
I've had a week of finding my happy outside of my circumstances.
Your weeks and days are what you allow them to be. Your circumstances don't define you or your attitude. It isn't glossing over the challenges but making a point to stand in joy while dealing with the curveballs. Where can you find your happy? Where is your joy rooted?
Keep chasing perfection, people. Eventually we are going to Catch Excellence.
