About Catch Excellence

“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.”
– Vince Lombardi
I never much liked Vince Lombardi quotes when I was an athlete.  I had a coach in college who started every team meeting with a different Lombardi quote.  I don’t know if it was the coach or the quotes but they never did much to motivate me.  Usually I had enough of my own drive to do that.  Now that life as moved on and I’ve got my attention pulled in more directions than I can usually track I find some of them rather impacting.  Catch Excellence is not about reaching perfection.  Greek goddess physique is not what I am after and the idea of perfection looks different for everyone.  No, I am attempting to Catch Excellence.  If I set the bar any lower than that for myself then I’ll decide the bar isn’t worth reaching for anymore.

This is my return to health, both mental and physical.  This is about modeling the best for my children and living up to my values. This journey toward excellence began in August 2011 and continues on today. I hope it inspires others to Catch Excellence too.

Who is Catch Excellence:
Jennifer Bartley is the voice behind the words. I am a wearer of many hats. For the past 10 years I've been putting my creative skills to task forging a foundation for non-traditional employment that blends well with the needs of a growing and ever changing family. My personal passions are healthy living, intentional parenting, committed partnership, nature and the out of doors. I  live in Pennsylvania with my high school sweetheart husband, 3 ever challenging blessed children and a curious orange cat. You can learn more about my family below.  They are main characters in my journey toward excellence.

 Meet the Bartleys

Supportive Husband Guy has had the role officially since 2000.

The Alpha is our first daughter. She is an 13 year old passionately opinionated, energetic whirlwind who loves to play soccer.

The Bird is our second daughter.  She is an 11 year old thoughtful, sensitive, creative soul who on occasion can surprise you with her giddiness. She has developed a love for running and a relaxed interest in yoga.

The Sharp Shooter is our youngest, and our only son. He is 10 years old and something else entirely: funny, thoughtful, energetic, sensitive and all boy.
